Thirteen countries. One transition.
How the natural force of wind is being harnessed at planetary scale.
Produced by Syk Flyk Productions and co-produced by Windy Lighthouse Studios, Planet Wind is an internationally screened feature documentary exploring the global rise of offshore wind energy and humanity's accelerating shift toward renewable power.
Developed by filmmaker Dominic Allen with renewable energy pioneer Andy Evans, the film was shot across thirteen countries and brings together more than twenty offshore wind experts, engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs and industry leaders to examine one of the defining infrastructure transformations of our time.
Moving from coastlines and ports to turbines, factories, research centres and vast offshore energy zones, Planet Wind traces the technological, environmental and human dimensions of the wind-power revolution: how nations are redesigning their energy systems, how industry is scaling to meet the climate challenge, and how the natural force of wind is being harnessed at planetary scale.
The film has screened internationally, including at Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, where it won the Audience Choice Award for Feature Documentary, as well as environmental and documentary festivals in the United States and Australia.
Planet Wind forms part of Dominic Allen's broader body of environmental cinema examining climate transition, planetary systems and humanity's evolving relationship with the natural forces that shape life on Earth.
